We have some updated codes that we thought were important for you to know. The most significant coding update for most chiropractic and physical therapy clinics is the conversion of the R51 headache code to a parent code. You are no longer allowed to use the R51 code,however they did replace it with 2 new headache codes. We have shared them below so you can take note for future use.
The new codes are…
R51.0– Headache with orthostatic component, not elsewhere classified
R51.9– Headache, unspecified

Please note, the new codes are not effective until October 1st, 2020. All services prior to October 1st must still bill with the old codes.
