BCBS of MN Medicare & Medicaid policies are currently working to resolve a system glitch causing chiropractic claims for these types of policies to deny as “CO-119: Benefit Maximum for this time period or occurrence has been reached.”
BCBS of MN is aware of this issue and has put a global effort in place to reprocess these denied claims. At this time they are testing their “fix” and expect providers to see the denials reversed and paid over the next 3-6 weeks.
We have been directed not to call in and/or follow up on these claims, but to watch for the correction to automatically happen in future EOB’s.
For claims MTB has already appealed or requested reprocessing on, BCBS of MN says to expect a denial of that request that states the appeal is not necessary as this denial is part of an issue that is being handled on a global level.
There is nothing you need to do on your end, this is simply a notification so that you are aware of the issue and the delay in payment. Money Tree Billing is working closely with our contacts at BCBS of MN to stay current with where they are at in their resolution process.
